Child labor is strictly prohibited. No person under the age of sixteenâor under the age required to complete compulsory education in a manufacturing country where this age is higherâmay be employed in any factory producing or manufacturing products for Teddykompaniet.
Employment of individuals under the age of sixteen may be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention 138.
Forced labor, prison labor, or bonded labor is strictly prohibited in the production of Teddykompanietâs products. All work, including overtime, must be performed voluntarily.
All applicable national and local laws regarding wages and working hours, including minimum wage laws, must be followed in the facilities. If the prevailing wage standard for factories is higher, it must be adhered to. National and local regulations concerning employment benefits must also be respected.
Normal working hours may not exceed 48 hours per week, with one day off during a seven-day period. If overtime work is required, all workers must be compensated for any work performed beyond normal working hours.
The facilities must ensure that all employees work in a healthy and safe environment. This requirement also applies to dormitories. Teddykompaniet expects all facilities to educate their employees about fire safety, emergency exits, proper use of safety equipment, basic first aid, and the disposal of any hazardous waste materials.
Employees in manufacturing facilities must be treated with dignity and respect. No employee or job applicant shall be subjected to abuse, unusual disciplinary actions, or discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, origin, political beliefs, sexual orientation, age, or gender.
Employees in manufacturing facilities must be informed about these rules (see the section above, "Misconduct and Discrimination") both verbally and in writing. They must also be regularly offered training on these principles.
Teddykompaniet does not tolerate facilities that fail to conduct their business operations in an ethical and proper manner, or that use bribes, gifts, or services to gain a competitive advantage.
Teddykompaniet maintains a strong environmental policy and ensures that waste disposal and recycling are handled appropriately. Facilities must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations regarding the disposal of toxic materials.
Teddykompaniet strives to conduct business with facilities that have the lowest possible environmental impact and continuously works to minimize the environmental footprint of production.
Teddykompaniet reserves the right to conduct regular visits to workplaces to inspect working and living conditions. This includes reviewing production documentation, production procedures, and information regarding working hours and wage payments to ensure compliance with these principles.
While Teddykompaniet retains the right to terminate relationships with suppliers or partners, the company prioritizes resolving any issues identified during inspections as quickly as possible. If problems are discovered, Teddykompaniet requires the establishment of an acceptable written corrective action plan. Failure to implement the necessary measures may result in the termination of the business relationship.
Manufacturing facilities must comply with the national laws of the country in which they operate, as well as all local laws, regulations, or standards relevant to their business operations and the industry standards established for each location. In cases of discrepancies between these laws, regulations, or standards and the provisions of this document, the highest standard will apply.
